ARE ALL OF OUR BOARDS IDENTICAL? 

Each of our boards are unique and come with all of the quirks and character you would expect from a natural product.

You will see from our Instagram account and product images that the timber we use can vary greatly, we believe this variety adds to the beauty. Knots, stripes, lines, live edge, the colour of the wood – no two boards are ever the same.

We try to keep the boards in our Spalted Beech and Walnut Collections as similar as we can, however, they can vary slightly - mainly in the 'stripiness' and colour of the Spalted Beech. 

Our boards can also vary in size by 1 - 2cm in length and up to 1cm in thickness. For example, the majority of our serving boards are 2.5cm thick but this can increase to 3cm depending on the wood used. 

BOARD CARE 

When well cared for, a Beech & Walnut board will last a lifetime.

How do I care for my board?

After use gently rinse your board with warm soapy water, wipe with a dry cloth and then let it stand to dry thoroughly before storing.

Never soak or place in the dishwasher as the timber may warp.   

To disinfect your board we recommend using natural products such as white vinegar or a lemon wedge with baking soda or salt - what's good for the planet is good for everyone!

Oiling your board

We recommend you oil your board as needed (every few months depending on use) with a food safe oil. We are a big fan of Odie's Oil which can be purchased at www.odiesoil.eu. 

Want us to do the work? 

We are also more than happy to ‘refresh’ your board (resurface and oil) for a small charge if you would rather us do the work! For further detail please contact beechandwalnut@gmail.com. 

 

PERSONALISATION

All of our boards are stamped with our signature logo unless personalised. If you choose to personalise your board, we leave the surface of the board blank for whatever and however you choose to personalise. 

To personalise your board you must choose this option before adding the board to your online cart, €15 will then automatically be added. 

Personalisation is limited to one line of text, a saying or quote maybe, up to the length of a board, or names with/without a date or short message kept within a 7.5cm window. 

Once you have selected personalisation and placed your order, we will be in touch by email to get the details of your engraving. A proof (with a few different options of style/font) will be sent to you in advance of engraving. 

... A name with 'Kitchen Goddess' is always a good go to if you're stuck for a gift idea! 

  

DELIVERY 

Delivery for standard orders

For non personalised boards, we aim to have your order shipped within 5 days of purchase. 

However, all of our boards are handcrafted by Mick and many made to order, so during busy periods such as Christmas (early November onwards) please allow a little extra time for us to get your order to you. 

Delivery for personalised boards

If you choose to personalise your board this can take up to 3 weeks. However, we will do our very best to get it to you sooner.

€10 - Delivery within Ireland

€15 - Delivery to UK

We offer free delivery within Ireland on orders over €120 and free delivery to the UK on orders over €150.
